I am
originally from a small town Michigan. My childhood home is on the shore
of Lake Superior, surrounded by hundred mile stretches of woodlands.
I paint because I love it. It is as natural and necessary for me as
eating. For a long time in my life, I had not painted and my life seemed
to yearn for this centering activity. I consider my impetus for painting
to be a gift from God. I open myself to the world and am moved by it,
whether it be ugly or pretty, and then I strive to transmute this union
of emotion and vision into something beautiful through a sort of
technical mediation.
I am surrounded by the fertile beauty of the South. My home, for this
year, is a small town in Georgia called Louisville. Its people and
places are now my subjects.
Thank you for viewing my works,
